L’usage des vidéos en didactique professionnelle : statuts technique, pragmatique, épistémique et acceptabilité sociale

Abstract : The use of video in training is heir to a long tradition centred on the learner subject (Linard & Prax, 1983). This article aims to question the status of video traces of activity in professional didactics (PD) research. It presents the theoretical foundations and the principles that structure their use in PD engineering for training. Three examples are taken to illustrate the status (pragmatic, epistemic, technical) and functions (visibility, elucidation, conception) attributed to these video traces in this framework. They show its interest but also its limits with regard to the social acceptability of what it reveals about the work and know-how of professionals for organizations. The distortion between acceptability and status thus highlighted appears to be a dimension to be questioned in research projects that use video in this domain.
